The quarterly meeting of the Official Language Implementation Committee was organized on 15 May at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University under the aegis of the Hindi Cell. The meeting was chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Raj Kumar Mittal. Registrar Ashwini Kumar Singh and Dr. Baljeet Kumar Shrivastava, Assistant Director (Official Language), BBAU, were also present on the dais. At the beginning, Dr. Baljeet Kumar Shrivastava briefed everyone about the objectives and outline of the meeting.

While expressing his views, Vice Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal stated that promoting Hindi is not merely a formal effort but a collective responsibility of all of us. He emphasized that several important measures can be undertaken at the university level, such as ensuring greater use of Hindi in official activities, noting, drafting, and other correspondence. He further suggested that brochures for various programs, meetings, and events should also be made available in Hindi, and question papers should be prepared in bilingual format to provide better convenience to students.

He also proposed that the residences of teachers and staff members, as well as guest houses within the university campus, should have names in Hindi, and everyone should be encouraged to sign in Hindi.
Additionally, Prof. Mittal suggested the establishment of a “Hindi Translation and Interpretation Cell” and a “Hindi Publication Cell” in the university to promote translation, publication, and academic content in Hindi. He further mentioned that 15-day workshops could be organized periodically to enhance Hindi proficiency.

He also proposed selecting “Bhasha Ambassadors” from each department to encourage the use of Hindi within their respective departments. Departments may also create “Hindi Walls” where a “Word of the Day” and other useful information related to Hindi can be displayed regularly. He stated that by adopting these small yet impactful initiatives, Hindi can be strengthened as an effective medium of communication, administration, education, and university culture.

During the meeting, Deans of various faculties, Heads of Departments, and faculty members were also present.
