The Department of Yoga at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University has organized the “Second Yogic Personality Development Camp (PDC)” on the occasion of the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY–2026). This special one-month camp is being conducted from 22 May to 21 June 2026 for children aged 6 to 14 years, with the aim of promoting holistic personality development, mental well-being, and a healthy lifestyle.
The camp will be held daily from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM in the university campus. Children will receive training in yoga practices, meditation, pranayama, Bhagavad Gita chanting, art and craft activities, recreational games, life skills, and character-building activities.

In his message, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajkumar Mittal stated that children are the strong foundation of the nation’s future. He emphasized that only physically and mentally healthy children can contribute to building a healthy, aware, and capable society. In today’s time, issues such as increasing stress among children, addiction to mobile phones and screens, lack of concentration, behavioral problems, depression, anxiety, social isolation, and emotional imbalance are rapidly emerging. In such circumstances, yoga can serve as an effective medium for personality development, mental balance, and the cultivation of positive life values among children.

Head of the Department of Yoga, Dr. Dipeshwar Singh, informed that the objective of the camp is to develop self-confidence, discipline, positive thinking, mental concentration, and a healthy lifestyle among children. He stated that yoga not only strengthens physical health but also plays a significant role in developing emotional stability, self-control, and mental peace in children. Through this camp, efforts will also be made to nurture leadership qualities, social participation, teamwork, creativity, and moral values among children. Additionally, children will be introduced to yogic lifestyle practices and Indian cultural values.
The university family has appealed to parents and the general public to encourage their children to participate in this special Yogic Personality Development Camp so that they may develop healthy, disciplined, confident, and value-oriented personalities.
