Hon’ble Deputy Speaker of Bihar Legislative Assembly, Shri Narendra Narayan Yadav, Visits Gautam Buddha Central Library, BBAU

Lucknow: At Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow, the Hon’ble Deputy Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Shri Narendra Narayan Yadav, along with a delegation of 11 officials, visited the Gautam Buddha Central Library on 13 September 2026. The delegation visited the library from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The visit was part of a study tour organised to understand the development, facilities, resources, functioning and management of the library. Upon arrival at the University, the delegation was welcomed by Dr. Ashwini Kumar, Registrar, Prof. S. Victor Babu, Dean, Academic Affairs, Dr. Sunil Goria, Librarian, Prof. Shilpi Verma, Director, IQAC and Dr. O. P. Saini, Assistant Librarian.
During the visit, Dr. O. P. Saini, Assistant Librarian, guided the delegation through the Braille Section of the library and demonstrated the available Braille equipment and facilities. Dr. Sunil Goria, Librarian, provided detailed information to the Hon’ble Deputy Speaker and the delegation about the RFID system, library automation and security arrangements implemented in the library. The Hon’ble Deputy Speaker showed keen interest in the various services, facilities and technological initiatives of the library.
On the occasion, the Hon’ble Deputy Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Shri Narendra Narayan Yadav, appreciated the facilities, services and modern technological initiatives of the Gautam Buddha Central Library, BBAU. He said that the library has been equipped with excellent facilities keeping in view the requirements of students, research scholars and faculty members, and that its management and functioning are highly organised. He particularly appreciated the technological facilities, Braille Section, RFID system and library automation services available at the library. The Hon’ble Deputy Speaker also appreciated the peaceful, clean and natural environment of the University campus. He said that the entire BBAU campus provides a highly conducive and positive atmosphere for learning and academic pursuits. He observed that a strong sense of discipline was clearly visible among the students and staff of the University. He further said that the natural and peaceful surroundings of the campus provide students with a healthy academic environment. Appreciating the facilities and positive atmosphere developed by the University alongside its academic activities, he remarked that such a disciplined and peaceful environment is important for the growth and development of any higher educational institution.
The delegation was apprised of the organisation of library resources, book issue and return procedures, and various user-centric services available for students, research scholars and faculty members. The delegation also observed the physical infrastructure and working environment of the Central Library and interacted with library officials on various aspects related to library administration, service delivery, technology-enabled services and library development. During the interaction, professional experiences and institutional practices related to the management and development of academic and legislative libraries were also exchanged.
The study visit was significant in terms of promoting professional dialogue and the exchange of best practices in the field of library and information services. The visit provided an opportunity to further strengthen the institutional and professional relationship between the Bihar Legislature Library and the Gautam Buddha Central Library, BBAU, while also creating possibilities for the exchange of knowledge and best practices in the future.
