Lucknow: Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) will organize its 11th Convocation Ceremony–2026 on August 29, 2026. The convocation ceremony will be held specifically for students who graduated in the years 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026. In view of the large number of students and degree recipients expected to participate, the University administration has decided to conduct the convocation in two phases to ensure its smooth, systematic, and effective execution.
According to the notification issued by the University, the first phase will be held from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium, while the second phase will commence from 2:00 PM onwards in the respective departments of the students. During the first phase at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium, Ph.D. scholars and Gold Medalists will be awarded their degrees. Students will be allowed entry only with a valid Convocation Pass issued by the Proctor’s Office. During the main ceremony, degrees on the stage will be conferred only upon the University toppers of each graduating year and the recipients of the R.D. Sonkar Award. The degrees of other registered students will be distributed during the second phase in their respective departments.
The second phase will begin at 2:00 PM in the respective departments. All Heads of Departments have been instructed to ensure adequate and appropriate seating arrangements for degree recipients and other authorized participants so that students can participate in the degree distribution ceremony in the second phase on time.
Special arrangements have also been made to ensure security and discipline throughout the convocation ceremony. After 1:00 PM, entry into all departments will be permitted only to registered candidates after verification of their Convocation Passes. Mandatory verification of students’ identity and passes will be carried out before granting entry.
The University administration has directed the concerned departments, Food Committee, Security Officer, and Sanitation In-charge to work in close coordination and ensure the smooth and systematic conduct of both phases of the ceremony.
Prof. Vikram Singh Yadav, Controller of Examinations, stated that the University administration has requested all concerned officials, committee members, and Heads of Departments to strictly comply with the instructions issued in the notification and complete all necessary preparations within the stipulated timeline. The arrangements aim to ensure that, considering the large number of students participating in the 11th Convocation, the process of degree and award distribution is conducted in a systematic, secure, and seamless manner.
