BBAU Students Shine at National Level, Secure First Runner-Up Position and Win ‘Best Memorial’ Award

Students of the Department of Law, School of Legal Studies, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow, showcased exceptional academic excellence and legal advocacy skills by securing the First Runner-Up position at the 1st Justice D.P. Gupta National Moot Court Competition organized by Babu Banarasi Das University (BBD University), Lucknow.
The competition witnessed participation from prestigious law schools across the country. The BBAU team delivered an outstanding performance through persuasive oral arguments, in-depth legal research, and remarkable judicial analysis. On this occasion, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal, congratulated the team and described their achievement as a matter of great pride for the University.
The University was represented by Speaker-1 Aviral Dwivedi, Speaker-2 Sankalp Bhatt, and Researcher Anushka Sharma. The team performed exceptionally well throughout the competition, advancing to the final round and securing the First Runner-Up title. The team was awarded a cash prize of ₹31,000 for this achievement.
In addition, the team won the prestigious ‘Best Memorial’ Award, accompanied by an additional cash prize of ₹5,100. This award recognizes the team’s excellence in written submissions, legal research, and the overall quality of its memorial.
The final round of the competition was adjudicated by Hon’ble Justice Shameem Ahmed, Judge, Madras High Court, and Hon’ble Justice Pramod Kumar Srivastava, Judge, Allahabad High Court.
During the valedictory ceremony, the winning teams were felicitated by Hon’ble Justice Dinesh Maheshwari, Former Judge of the Supreme Court of India and Chairman of the 23rd Law Commission of India, and Hon’ble Justice M. N. Bhandari, Former Chief Justice of the Madras High Court and Chairman of the Appellate Tribunal under the SAFEMA Act.
This remarkable achievement has brought immense pride and joy to the Department of Law at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University. Prof. Sudarshan Verma, Head of the Department of Law, along with other faculty members, congratulated the team on its outstanding success and wished them a bright future.
