BBAU Organizes Tree Plantation Drive at Savitribai Phule Women’s Hostel, Reinforces Commitment to Environmental Conservation

Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) organized a tree plantation drive on 6 August at the premises of the Savitribai Phule Girl’s Hostel with the objective of promoting a green and clean campus and encouraging environmental conservation. The programme was chaired by Prof. Sunita Mishra. University Advisor Prof. K.K. Pandey, Chief Warden Prof. Neetu Singh, and Dr. Ravi Shankar Verma were present as distinguished guests.
The programme commenced with the plantation of various species of saplings by the faculty members. During the event, the participants encouraged everyone to plant more trees and take responsibility for their protection and maintenance. The students were also motivated to remain environmentally conscious and actively fulfil their responsibilities towards nature conservation.
As part of the drive, a variety of fruit-bearing saplings, including guava, lemon, pear, pomegranate, mango, and peach, were planted across the hostel premises. Faculty members, non-teaching staff, research scholars, and students enthusiastically participated in the plantation drive and pledged to ensure the proper care and maintenance of the newly planted saplings.
The programme was attended by Hostel Wardens Dr. Shalini Chandra, Dr. Monika Sharma, Dr. Victoria Sujjain, Dr. Maitri Verma, and Dr. Chimperi Srujani, along with other faculty members, non-teaching staff, research scholars, gardeners, and a large number of students. The event concluded with a collective pledge to protect the environment and promote sustainable development.
