BBAU Organizes Lecture on ‘Diverse Employment Opportunities, Prospects and Challenges in Hindi’

Lucknow: Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow, organized a special lecture on “Diverse Employment Opportunities, Prospects and Challenges in Hindi” on September 22, 2026, as part of the ‘Seven-Day Hindi Workshop’ being organized under the ‘Rajbhasha Hindi Utsav – 2026’ by the Hindi Cell of the University. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Harish Kumar Sharma, former Head of the Department of Hindi, Siddharth University, Kapilvastu, who attended the programme as the Chief Speaker. Dr. Baljeet Kumar Srivastava and Dr. Sandhya Dixit were also prominently present on the occasion. The programme commenced with the organizing committee expressing its gratitude to the Chief Speaker by presenting him with an angavastram and a memento.
In his address, Prof. Harish Kumar Sharma, former Head of the Department of Hindi, Siddharth University, Kapilvastu, highlighted the employment opportunities available through the Hindi language, the importance of language skills, and the challenges associated with employment. He stated that in the present era, along with higher education and academic degrees, skill development, continuous efforts, and working in the right direction are essential. Drawing upon literary and mythological examples, Prof. Sharma explained to the students that the challenges associated with employment and the struggles of life are not new. Citing the examples of Premchand, Yashpal, Dronacharya, and Karna, he encouraged the students to accept difficult circumstances as challenges and transform their abilities and talents into opportunities. Prof. Sharma also emphasized the importance of Indian languages and multilingualism, along with Hindi. He stated that television, cinema, tourism, employment, and digital platforms have played a significant role in taking Hindi to non-Hindi-speaking regions. He encouraged the students to learn commonly used words and expressions from other Indian languages, emphasizing that language is not merely a means of communication but also a tool for strengthening social relationships and a sense of belonging. He called upon the students to develop a respectful outlook towards all languages, including English, and to adopt Hindi as a medium for employment, creativity, communication, and professional development.
At the end of the programme, Dr. Baljeet Kumar Srivastava proposed the vote of thanks. Various teaching and non-teaching officers and employees, research scholars, and students were present during the programme.
