In his address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal emphasized the central role of youth in achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047. He stated that every young individual must actively contribute toward this vision. He highlighted that promoting indigenous products and ideologies, adopting initiatives like Vocal for Local, and strengthening techno-nationalism and economic patriotism are essential for building a Atmanirbhar Bharat. He noted that the dream of a developed India can only be realized when the country’s economy reaches the level of 30 trillion dollars. For this, youth must go beyond job-seeking and become job creators. He further emphasized that education is the most effective tool to eliminate societal inequalities. He also spoke about the importance of women’s participation in national development and inclusive growth. Addressing environmental challenges such as global warming, he stressed the need for innovation and sustainable thinking. Referring to India’s rich historical heritage, he mentioned that India once contributed 25–30% to global GDP, but this declined due to foreign invasions. To regain that stature, it is essential to build a strong and balanced economy capable of withstanding external shocks. He also underlined the importance of traditional medical systems like Ayurveda and Unani and emphasized the need for critical thinking in research and development. He encouraged youth to engage meaningfully with society, understand local issues, and present them at a global level to realize the vision of a self-reliant India.
