In his address, Chief Guest Dr. Mukesh Pasupuleti advised everyone to adopt a healthy lifestyle, stating that the human body is an invaluable asset and its care and protection are our own responsibility. Highlighting the importance of the immune system, he emphasized that in today’s era of changing lifestyles and increasing diseases, it is essential to strengthen immunity. He mentioned that a balanced and nutritious diet, regular exercise, adequate sleep, cleanliness, and a positive mindset not only keep the body healthy but also maintain mental balance. He also stressed the importance of regular health check-ups and awareness, urging everyone to prioritize their health, as a healthy body forms the foundation of a successful and happy life.
Dr. Ravi Shankar Singh from SGPGI explained that humans are the only species capable of eating at any time during the 24-hour day, whereas most other species follow fixed eating patterns. He pointed out that irregular lifestyles and the habit of eating frequently without need are major contributors to lifestyle-related diseases. To prevent such issues, he emphasized controlling both the timing and quantity of food intake. He advocated for a balanced diet, timely meals, avoidance of junk food, and regular physical activity. He further added that a balanced diet not only improves physical health but also strengthens the digestive system and enhances overall quality of life, encouraging everyone to adopt positive changes in their daily routine.
Head of the Department, Prof. D.R. Modi, highlighted the importance of awareness regarding essential vaccinations to prevent various diseases, stating that timely immunization protects against many serious illnesses. He also advised individuals to maintain proper records of their health, including vaccination details, medical reports, and routine check-ups, for easy access when needed. He emphasized that through awareness, regular health check-ups, cleanliness, and a balanced lifestyle, individuals can safeguard themselves and contribute to building a healthier society.
Program Convenor Dr. G. Sunil Babu mentioned that the department regularly works to spread awareness on important health-related topics not only among students but also among other sections of society. He noted that through competitions, activities, and participatory programs, children are actively engaged, making learning more interesting and effective in spreading awareness. Such initiatives, he said, not only enhance knowledge but also instill a sense of responsibility among youth, motivating them to contribute toward building a healthy and aware society.
On this occasion, to encourage students’ creativity and talent, grand competitions such as poster making, rangoli, quiz, and model presentation were organized in junior and senior categories. Participants enthusiastically showcased their skills and innovation. Winners of all competitions were awarded certificates and medals during the closing session.
