Rehearsal Held at BBAU Ahead of 11th Convocation Ceremony; Vice Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal Reviews Arrangements

Lucknow: Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow, is in the final stage of preparations for its 11th Convocation Ceremony-2026. As part of these preparations, a rehearsal for the convocation ceremony was conducted on Thursday, 27 August 2026, on the university campus. The rehearsal was presided over by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal. During the rehearsal, he thoroughly inspected various arrangements related to the convocation and issued necessary directions to ensure that the programme is conducted successfully and with due dignity. A detailed rehearsal of the various procedures and arrangements to be followed during the convocation was conducted, with students participating enthusiastically.
The 11th Convocation Ceremony of BBAU will be held on 29 August 2026. The Hon’ble Defence Minister of India, Shri Rajnath Singh, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. The University administration is giving final shape to all arrangements to ensure that the convocation is conducted in a dignified and well-organized manner. The convocation is being organized particularly for students who graduated in the academic years 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026.

During the rehearsal, Vice Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal, Registrar Dr. Ashwini Kumar Singh and COE Prof. Vikram Singh Yadav inspected various arrangements related to the convocation. The officials reviewed the entry and exit arrangements for students, seating arrangements, stage proceedings, the process of conferring degrees and awarding medals, discipline, protocol and other essential arrangements. The various procedures of the ceremony were also rehearsed step-by-step to ensure the smooth conduct of all arrangements during the main event.

The students participated in the rehearsal with great enthusiasm and discipline. They practiced taking their designated seats, proceeding to the stage in an orderly manner, receiving their degrees and medals, and returning to their seats through the designated route. Coordination between the stage proceedings and different segments of the ceremony was also reviewed during the rehearsal.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal conducted a comprehensive inspection of the preparations and issued necessary directions to the concerned officials and teams. He particularly emphasized that all necessary arrangements should be made to ensure that students, parents, guests and other participants attending the convocation do not face any inconvenience. He further directed that all arrangements should be carried out in accordance with the prescribed protocol and within the stipulated timeline.

During the convocation ceremony, a large number of students will be conferred degrees in recognition of their academic achievements. Meritorious students will also be honoured with gold medals and other awards for their outstanding performance. The University administration is giving final shape to all arrangements, keeping in view the dignity and grandeur of the ceremony. The rehearsal conducted today helped finalize the various arrangements and procedures and ensured that every aspect of the main ceremony is conducted in a coordinated, disciplined and smooth manner.

The University administration aims to make the 11th Convocation Ceremony of BBAU a proud celebration of the academic achievements of its students, while also reflecting the University’s commitment to academic excellence, discipline and dignity.
