Pujan Ceremony Organized on the Occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti at the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, BBAU

Lucknow: Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University organized a pujan ceremony on September 17, 2026, on the auspicious occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti. The programme was organized by the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, UIET, with the participation of faculty members, officers, and students of the University. On this occasion, Prof. Shishir Kumar, Prof. B. S. Bhadauria, Prof. Sanjay Kumar, Department Coordinator Dr. Gaurav Bajpai, Dr. Akhilesh Singh, Heads of various departments of UIET, Dr. Manvendra Singh Chauhan, Dr. Balraj Singh, Dr. Anshul Agrawal, Prof. G. Sunil Babu, along with other faculty members and students, were present.
During the programme, Director Prof. Shishir Kumar and Head of the Department Prof. B. S. Bhadauria lit the ceremonial lamp before Lord Vishwakarma and offered garlands and flowers. The various machines and equipment installed in the department’s workshop were also duly worshipped, followed by floral offerings.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Head of the Department Prof. B. S. Bhadauria stated that engineering and innovation are of immense importance for nation-building, social development, and public welfare. He offered prayers to Lord Vishwakarma on behalf of the students for continuous and enduring innovation and emphasized that the purpose of technical knowledge should be to understand the needs of society and develop useful and positive solutions. He further referred to various accounts and narratives related to Lord Vishwakarma mentioned in Indian scriptures and described him as an ideal engineer and creator. He encouraged the students to draw inspiration from Lord Vishwakarma’s creative approach, technical expertise, and spirit of innovation.

The programme concluded with a collective Aarti and distribution of Prasad. The gathering offered prayers to Lord Vishwakarma with devotion and enthusiasm, wishing for happiness, prosperity, and continuous innovation.
