BBAU Organises First ‘Intra Client Counselling Competition’; 32 Teams Participate

Lucknow: Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow, organised the ‘First Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University Intra Client Counselling Competition’ on September 21, 2026, under the aegis of the Department of Law. The programme was organised under the patronage of the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal, and under the guidance of the Head of the Department of Law, Prof. Sudarshan Verma. Dr. Shashya Mishra, Dean, School of Law, Forensic Justice and Policy Studies, Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Sciences, and Advocate Mr. Vanshaj Shukla were present as judges for the competition.
A total of 32 teams participated in the Preliminary (Prelims) Round of the competition. Based on their performance, 8 teams were selected for the Quarter-Final Round. Subsequently, 4 teams qualified for the Semi-Final Round, while 2 teams advanced to the Final Round. In the final round, Team T14 and Team T25 competed for the title. Team T14 comprised Gudli Kumari and Aparna Singh, while Team T25 comprised Anshul Mishra and Ayushi. Both teams presented their respective cases effectively and demonstrated their legal reasoning, analytical abilities, research skills, and client counselling skills.
The judges evaluated the participants on the basis of their understanding of law, problem analysis, presentation of facts, application of relevant legal provisions, and client counselling skills. In the final round, Team T14 delivered an impressive performance and emerged as the winner of the First Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University Intra Client Counselling Competition, while Team T25 secured the runner-up position.
The objective of the competition was to develop practical legal knowledge, client counselling skills, logical and analytical abilities, effective communication, and a professional approach among law students. The competition provided students with an opportunity to understand legal problems in practical situations and develop effective strategies for addressing them.
The successful organisation of the programme was supported by faculty members of the Department of Law, including Dr. Anees Ahmad, Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Dr. Khushnuma Bano, Dr. Brajesh Kumar Yadav, Dr. Amit Kumar Singh, and Dr. Navneet Krishna, along with research scholars and students.
