BBAU Releases Schedule for Spot Counselling Against Vacant UG Seats, Process to Begin from August 27; Classes to Commence from September 10

Lucknow: Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow has announced the detailed schedule for Spot Counselling for admission against vacant seats in undergraduate (UG) programmes for the academic session 2026-27. As per the official notification issued by the University, the first phase of Spot Counselling (Spot Counselling-I) will be conducted on August 27, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the respective departments of the University. For vacant seats in undergraduate programmes at the Amethi Satellite Centre, counselling will also be conducted at the OSD Amethi Centre Office located at the Lucknow campus. Only those candidates whose names are included in the CUET score list available on the University website will be eligible to participate in this phase.
The University administration has clarified that physical presence of candidates on the day of counselling is mandatory, and no candidate will be allowed to participate in the admission process after the prescribed reporting time. Students who have already taken admission during Phase-I and Phase-II are not required to appear for the counselling. However, candidates who had not deposited the fee earlier and had applied for an extension of time will be required to appear in person.
Under the first phase, reporting and document verification will be conducted on August 27, followed by the release of the merit list and generation of the fee challan on August 28. Candidates will be able to deposit the fee and complete their admission by August 30, 2026. The details of the remaining vacant seats will be published on the University website on August 31.
Thereafter, under Spot Counselling-II, online registration for both CUET and Non-CUET candidates will remain open from September 1 to September 7, 2026. Document verification of registered candidates will be conducted on September 8, the merit list will be released on September 9, and candidates will be able to deposit the fee by September 10, 2026. Classes for first-year students of the new academic session will also commence from September 10, 2026.
Candidates are required to bring self-attested photocopies of one set each of their Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets and certificates, graduation marksheet/certificate, migration certificate, character certificate, caste certificate, income certificate, EWS certificate and a valid photo identity proof. The University administration has clarified that mere participation in the counselling process does not guarantee admission. Admission will be granted strictly on the basis of merit and availability of seats.
The University administration has appealed to all candidates participating in the counselling process to regularly visit the official University website for timely updates regarding important information, dates and necessary guidelines related to the counselling process. Candidates are also advised to carefully follow the prescribed timelines and complete the counselling process and all required formalities within the stipulated time.
