AI Technology a Major Force Driving Transformation in Industry and Entrepreneurship: Experts Share Insights at BBAU

Lucknow: Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University organized an online programme on “AI-Powered Solutions: Entrepreneurship & Startups” on August 18, jointly organized by the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the Department of Electrical Engineering. The primary objective of the programme was to discuss the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in entrepreneurship, innovation, and emerging startup opportunities. The programme was graced by the presence of Vice Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal and IIC Chairman Prof. Naveen Kumar Arora. The keynote speaker was Dr. B.V. Surya Vardhan, Senior Energy Market Analyst at Energy Exemplar, Pune. Dr. Anshul Agrawal, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, along with Dr. Bheem Sonkar and Dr. Ishan Srivastava, were also present.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal stated that Artificial Intelligence is emerging as a major force bringing widespread transformation to the fields of education, industry, and entrepreneurship. He emphasized that universities have a responsibility to equip students with knowledge of the latest technologies while encouraging them towards innovation and entrepreneurship, enabling them to create new startups and employment opportunities through AI-based solutions. Prof. Mittal called upon the youth to develop creative thinking alongside technical skills and actively contribute to the building of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
Prof. Naveen Kumar Arora said that in the era of AI, successful entrepreneurship requires not only technical expertise but also the ability to identify problems and develop practical and innovative solutions. He stated that if young people combine Artificial Intelligence with creative thinking and an entrepreneurial approach, they can address real-world industry challenges and lay the foundation for impactful startups. He also emphasized the need for students to develop a culture of continuous learning and experimentation while exploring new technologies.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr. B.V. Surya Vardhan, Senior Energy Market Analyst at Energy Exemplar, Pune, provided an in-depth perspective from the industry point of view. He stated that Artificial Intelligence is bringing significant changes to the structure and functioning of industries and businesses. He discussed the potential of AI-based technologies in fostering innovation, creating new business opportunities, and promoting startup development, while encouraging young people to develop an entrepreneurial mindset along with technical knowledge.
Dr. Anshul Agrawal, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, along with Dr. Bheem Sonkar and Dr. Ishan Srivastava, also shared their views and highlighted various important aspects related to the theme. During the session, the speakers discussed how AI-powered technologies can not only provide innovative solutions but also promote an entrepreneurial mindset, thereby creating new opportunities for students and emerging innovators.
