Training Programme on “Accessing E-Library Digital Resources through Nimbus Discovery Tool” Organized at BBAU

The Gautam Buddha Central Library of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow, successfully organized an online training programme on the topic “How to Use the BBAU E-Library through the Nimbus Discovery Tool.” The programme was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal. Distinguished attendees included Prof. S. Victor Babu, Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. Sunil Goria, Librarian and Programme Convenor, Ms. Kanishka Jindal from Nimbus, Prof. Shishir Kumar, Director, Research and Development Cell and Prof. Neetu Singh, Head, Department of Food and Nutrition. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Sunil Goria, who welcomed the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, distinguished guests, representatives from Nimbus, and all participants.
In his address, Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal highlighted the growing importance of digital resources in higher education and research. He stated that the library serves as a Knowledge Hub for teaching, learning, and research. He urged faculty members, research scholars, and students to make maximum use of the various e-resources provided by the library and to benefit from the newly established integrated digital platform, Nimbus E-Library. Prof. Mittal explained that the Nimbus platform enables access to all subscribed resources, open-access resources, and resources available under the One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) initiative through a single interface. This will save both time and effort for students and faculty members by providing access to all e-resources through a single window.
Introducing the Nimbus Discovery Tool and its mobile app-based platform, Dr. Sunil Goria explained that it allows users to access all e-resources of the university library conveniently from anywhere and at any time.
During the technical session, Ms. Kanishka Jindal demonstrated the key features of the Nimbus Discovery Platform developed for BBAU. She explained how users can search and access various e-journals, e-books, databases, and other academic resources through its integrated search system.
More than 100 faculty members, research scholars, students, and staff participated in the training programme. The event successfully achieved its objectives, and participants found it highly useful and informative.
During the valedictory session, the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal, appreciated the efforts of Dr. Sunil Goria in strengthening research and academic activities at the university. Dr. Goria also expressed his gratitude to all distinguished guests and resource persons for their valuable contributions.
A large number of faculty members, research scholars, students, and staff members of the university attended the programme.
