GD Goenka Sports Fest 2026 Concludes on a Grand Note, Promising Another Sporting Celebration Next Year
Lucknow. The second edition of the GDGPS Sports Fest 2026 concluded on August 27 after six days of spirited competition, bringing together more than 1,200 young athletes from over 50 schools across Uttar Pradesh. Held from August 22 to 27, the sporting extravaganza featured competitions in basketball, football, swimming and chess across multiple age categories.
GD Goenka Public School Triumphs in U-19 Football and Girls’ Basketball

The concluding day witnessed several exciting and closely contested finals. In the Under-19 Boys’ Football final, GD Goenka Public School defeated Seth Amarnath Jaipuria School, Shaheed Path, in a thrilling penalty shootout to lift the championship trophy. In the Under-14 Boys’ Football final, Mont Fort School emerged victorious over Amity International School.
The basketball finals also produced engaging encounters. GD Goenka Public School won the Under-19 Girls’ Basketball title after defeating Seth Amarnath Jaipuria School, Shaheed Path, 35-18. In the Under-19 Boys’ Basketball final, St. Joseph School, Lucknow, secured the title with a 60-53 victory over GD Goenka Public School in a closely fought contest.
Allen House School Dominates Swimming Events
The swimming competitions were organised across the Under-7, Under-9, Under-11, Under-14 and Under-19 categories for both boys and girls. Participants competed in freestyle, butterfly and breaststroke events, showcasing impressive skill and determination. Allen House School dominated the swimming competitions, while students of La Martiniere Boys’ delivered an outstanding performance in the chess events.
A Celebration of Sportsmanship and Camaraderie

Beyond the competitive arena, the six-day fest provided students with an opportunity to interact with peers from different schools and cities. The event fostered an atmosphere of friendship, enthusiasm, teamwork and healthy sportsmanship, allowing young participants to create lasting memories.
Winners Felicitated at Closing Ceremony
The closing ceremony marked a fitting conclusion to the sporting extravaganza, with winners and runners-up felicitated with certificates in recognition of their achievements.
