Prof. Arora further explained that the concept of the journal was developed nearly eight years before its official launch. Recognizing the growing environmental challenges worldwide and the increasing need for high-quality interdisciplinary research, the vision was to create a platform dedicated to publishing outstanding research addressing contemporary environmental issues. Acknowledging this vision, Springer Nature launched the journal in June 2018. Today, the journal actively supports and promotes research aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
