National Seminar on ‘Udhyamita se Samaveshi Vikas: Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar ki Drishti Me’ organized at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University: Emerging Young Entrepreneurs Honoured
Lucknow: Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University is organizing a four-day celebration from April 11 to 14 on the occasion of ‘Ambedkar Jayanti’ and ‘University Foundation Day’, featuring various academic and cultural programs, seminars, and competitions. On the third day, April 13, a national seminar on the theme ‘Udhyamita se Samaveshi Vikas: Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar ki Drishti Me’ was organised. The program was chaired by the In- Charge Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Sunita Mishra. Prof. Badri Narayan Tiwari, Vice-Chancellor of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai attended as the Chief Guest. Additionally, Prof. K.L. Mahawar, Chairman of the Standing Organizing Committee and Prof. Naveen Kumar Arora were present on the dais. The program began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and floral tribute to Babasaheb’s statue. After the University anthem, guests and faculty members were welcomed with saplings on behalf of the organizing committee. Prof. K.L. Mahawar welcomed everyone and briefed them about the objectives and outline of the program. The event was anchored by Dr. Sufia Ahmed.
In her address, In- Charge Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sunita Mishra described Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar as the architect of modern India and social justice. She stated that Babasaheb presented a visionary blueprint for a new India centered on the values of equality, liberty, and fraternity. According to her, Babasaheb laid a strong foundation of legal and social concepts and framed the Indian Constitution inspired by the world’s finest democratic systems. As a visionary social reformer, he transformed the Constitution into a powerful tool for social change, ensuring justice and rights for all sections of society. She further emphasized his relentless struggle against untouchability, inequality, and discrimination. By prioritizing reforms such as women’s education, widow remarriage, and the Hindu Code Bill, he paved the way for women’s rights and dignity. Babasaheb’s life symbolizes struggle, education, and self-respect, continuing to guide society even today.

Prof. Badri Narayan Tiwari, Vice-Chancellor of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, stated that the human body is the most complex structure therefore, every individual should continuously develop and reorganize their personality by nurturing their strengths. He stressed the need to revisit the ideals and messages of Dr. Ambedkar, as adopting them is essential for building an inclusive society. According to him, development is a continuous process, and policymakers must ensure equal participation of all sections of society in the development process. This requires understanding people’s emotions and perspectives while formulating policies. He also emphasized promoting entrepreneurship, stating that it leads to knowledge creation and empowers society. He highlighted that every section of society has immense potential and described marginalized communities as culturally rich and deeply connected to their traditions. He concluded by urging everyone to contribute actively towards realizing the vision of a developed India.

Prof. K.L. Mahawar, Chairman of the Standing Organizing Committee, stated that the University is continuously working to promote the ideas of Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. Through various academic and social initiatives, the University remains committed to spreading his principles of equality, justice, and human rights among the masses. He added that Babasaheb envisioned a society free from inequality and discrimination, where everyone has equal opportunities and dignity. Promoting his ideas through education is the true tribute to him and is essential for building an inclusive and progressive society.
Mr. Manish Verma, President of the Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, highlighted the organization’s role and objectives in empowering marginalized communities through entrepreneurship. He stated that today, individuals from such sections are achieving remarkable success in business and industry, who were once far from the mainstream. He appreciated this transformation as a significant step toward socio-economic empowerment and emphasized that DICCI aims to promote employment generation while building a self-reliant and inclusive society.


On this occasion, entrepreneurs were honoured with mementos, certificates, and traditional shawls for their outstanding work, innovative efforts, and significant contributions to society. The awardees included Mr. Manish Kumar (Co-founder, Shiksha Saathi Pvt. Ltd. and Founder, SmartX Shakti Foundation), Mrs. Aarti Devi Rana (social worker, farmer, and associated with handloom and handicrafts), Mr. Dharmendra Kumar (Janajatiya Shilp India Pvt. Ltd.), Mrs. Renu Chaudhary (Principal, New Vision Academy Inter College, Lucknow, and Coordinator, DICCI Women Wing), Dr. Rajesh Gautam (Director, Shubhangi Hospital, Sultanpur), Mrs. Sumitra Saroj (Founder-Chairperson, Pixel Power & Energy LLP), Mr. Arvind Kumar (Founder & Director, Navodaya Growth Pvt. Ltd. and Partner, Navodaya HR Services), Dr. Rajneesh Verma (Senior Scientist and Stem Cell Program Leader), Mrs. Sangeeta (Founder, Daulat Grih Udyog Company), Mr. Sanjay Kumar (Social Worker and Founder, Help Why God Trust), Mrs. Archana Jaisal (Founder, Shiksha Saathi), and Mrs. Nikita Rawat (Director, Janajatiya Shilp India Pvt. Ltd.), all of whom have made notable contributions in their respective fields and strengthened societal development and empowerment.
At the end, the organizing committee expressed gratitude to the dignitaries by presenting mementos and traditional shawls. The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Naveen Kumar Arora.
A health camp was also successfully organized with the joint support of the University Health Centre and Jyoti Dental Centre, providing facilities such as dental check-ups and digital X-rays. More than 100 people benefited from the camp.

During the program, competitions such as essay writing, poster making, and street play were organized on the theme ‘Samaveshi Vikas, Viksit Bharat ka Aadhar: Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar ki Drishti Me’, where students actively participated and showcased their creativity.
Dr. Monica Sharma, Chairperson of the Cultural Committee, informed that vibrant cultural programs were also organized, including dance and musical performances, which made the event lively and inspiring. An exhibition was also held showcasing rural industries, handicrafts, traditional art, and various folk products in an engaging and commendable manner.
The event witnessed the presence of deans, heads of departments, faculty members, non-teaching staff, research scholars, and students from various faculties of the University.
